I teach children, teens, and adults from beginning through advanced levels. Lessons are individualized to each student’s age, experience, goals, and learning style.
For younger beginners, I may recommend starting with a preschool or group piano class before transitioning into private lessons.

Most students take a weekly 55-minute lesson.
A 40-minute lesson option is available for first-year students ages 7 and under who are still building the focus and stamina for a longer lesson.
-
Tuition for 55-minute private lessons is $310 per month, paid in 12 equal payments from September through August.
Tuition for 40-minute first-year lessons is $255 per month.
Tuition reserves your regular place in the studio and includes weekly lessons during the academic year, seven flexible summer lesson credits, studio recitals, optional group classes, and access to studio events and resources.

Yes. Regular access to an acoustic piano at home is an important part of successful piano study.
Students make much more consistent progress when they are able to practice on an instrument that responds similarly to the piano they use during lessons. If you are currently looking for a piano, I’m happy to offer guidance before you purchase one.

Consistent practice between lessons is an essential part of making progress at the piano. As a general guideline, students should aim to practice five days per week, with practice time increasing as they get older and more advanced:
Elementary students: about 30 minutes per day
Middle school students: about 45 minutes per day
High school students: about 60 minutes per day
These are guidelines rather than a stopwatch requirement. Some days may be shorter or longer depending on a student’s repertoire, goals, and schedule.
An important part of lessons is learning how to practice—not simply how long. Students learn to break difficult passages into manageable pieces, listen critically, solve problems independently, and use their practice time effectively.
-
Performance is an important part of the studio, and students participate in a minimum of two required studio recitals throughout the year.
Students may also choose to participate in additional festivals, competitions, composition projects, and performance opportunities through local and statewide music organizations.
I work with each student to choose opportunities that are appropriate for their level, goals, and readiness.

Because tuition reserves a regular weekly time in the studio, missed lessons are not prorated.
With at least 24 hours’ notice, students may receive a make-up lesson credit that can be used within 14 days, subject to availability. Lessons missed without notice are not eligible for a make-up.
Full scheduling and cancellation policies are provided before enrollment.

All prospective students begin with a 25-minute consultation lesson for $35.
We’ll spend some time at the piano, talk about your musical background and goals, and get a sense of how we work together. Students with previous experience are welcome to bring a piece they enjoy playing, while beginners do not need to prepare anything.
After the consultation, if the studio feels like a good fit, we’ll choose a regular lesson time and complete enrollment.
